Central Pennsylvania Digital Learning Foundation

Welcome Secondary Students

The Central Pennsylvania Digital Learning Foundation offers an educationally sound alternative to the traditional high school; all courses meet the Pennsylvania standards. Cyber education requires that a student be an independent learner, be self-motivated and self-disciplined. Students receive a pace chart in each class. Although students have the ability to create their own daily schedule, students are required to complete the assigned work each week. This program has flexibility but requires discipline to manage the flexibility.

Students are required to communicate with mentors and facilitators on a regular basis. Students must be comfortable with initiating and responding to staff in a professional manner. They are held accountable for submitting quality work on a timely basis. Students will be evaluated regularly to assess progress in the cyber environment.

Successful Curriculum:

The secondary curriculum is a rigorous, online curriculum. The Central Pennsylvania Digital Learning Foundation uses a combination of courses from the Florida Virtual School and courses that we have created. Using web-based technology, students will have a unique opportunity to gain the knowledge necessary to be successful beyond the high school.

Although the majority of the curriculum is online, there are supplemental materials with some courses. With each course, there is a variety of internet-based applications and software used to supplement the learning experience. Included with each course is a pace chart. The pace chart guides students to plan and complete the assigned lessons in structured time periods.

The CPDLF provides an instructor in every course. The instructor provides feedback to the students and is available to help the students in the learning environment. Although this is primarily an independent learning environment, students always have access to a certified teacher in every class.
