At CPDLF, we chose the honey badger as our mascot for a reason. This small but extraordinary animal is known around the world for its intelligence, resilience, and fearless determination—qualities we see every day in our learners.
Our students come from all kinds of backgrounds and experiences. Some have faced challenges that might have held them back in a traditional school setting, but here, they discover their inner strength. Like the honey badger, they find creative ways to overcome obstacles, adapt quickly, and push forward with grit and purpose.

Meet Our Elementary Honey Badger!
This little honey badger is the perfect representative of our CPDLF Elementary School learners—curious, eager, and ready to jump into every new adventure. With his headset on and his computer fired up, he’s showing that even our youngest learners can take charge of their education and lean into technology. He’s confident navigating virtual classrooms, meeting with teachers, and exploring new ideas from the comfort of home.
Our elementary honey badger loves to learn. He asks big questions, tries new things, and isn’t afraid to make mistakes—because that’s how he grows. His goals are simple but powerful: stay curious, stay kind, and keep discovering what makes learning exciting. Whether he’s reading a new book, solving a tricky math problem, or joining a morning meeting with classmates, he brings enthusiasm and determination to everything he does.
Just like our youngest CPDLF learners, this honey badger is building the foundations that will help him thrive—confidence, independence, and the courage to keep going, even when something feels challenging. And, of course, he never forgets to give a thumbs-up to celebrate his progress along the way!
Meet Our Middle School Honey Badger!
Our CPDLF Middle School honey badger is right in that exciting stage where learners start discovering who they are and what they’re capable of. With his favorite CPDLF gear and a laptop always within reach, he represents the growing independence and emerging confidence that define our middle school learners.
This honey badger is learning to take ownership of his day—logging into classes, managing assignments, and building the study habits that will carry him into high school and beyond. He isn’t afraid to ask questions, try new strategies, or tackle tougher work. Like all middle schoolers, he’s exploring new interests and figuring out what motivates him, and CPDLF gives him the space and support to do just that.
He also knows the power of connection. Whether he’s joining a group project, chatting with a Learning Guide, or helping a classmate, he brings a positive attitude and a “thumbs-up” spirit to the people around him. And even when the work gets challenging—as it often does in these years—he shows the resilience and determination that make honey badgers legendary.
Just like our CPDLF middle school learners, this honey badger is growing stronger, smarter, and more self-reliant every day—all while staying true to his curious, courageous nature.
Meet Our High School Honey Badger!
Our CPDLF High School honey badger represents the confidence, independence, and focus that define the final years of a learner’s K–12 journey. Relaxed in his favorite spot with a laptop on hand and a tumbler nearby, he shows the balance our high school students work hard to master—comfort paired with commitment, flexibility paired with responsibility.
This honey badger is mapping out his future. He’s completing coursework with intention, exploring career interests, preparing for college or technical training, and building the real-world skills he’ll carry into adulthood. Whether he’s researching a new field, meeting with his Learning Guide, or tackling an important project, he approaches each step with maturity and self-direction.
He knows how to manage his time, advocate for his needs, and reach out when he wants support—key traits that make him unstoppable in a cyber-learning environment. And even as he prepares for life after CPDLF, he stays connected to his teachers, Learning Coaches, and peers, giving a confident thumbs-up as he closes in on graduation.
