We kindly ask that you encourage your child to keep their camera on during instructional time. Here’s why it matters:
- Student Engagement: When students have their cameras on, teachers can better connect with them, read nonverbal cues, and provide more responsive instruction. It allows for richer discussions, stronger relationships, and a true sense of classroom community—even in a virtual setting.
- Wellness and Accountability: In accordance with the CPDLF Wellness Policy and guidance from the Pennsylvania Department of Education, student wellness includes social-emotional connections, consistent engagement, and visibility in the learning environment. Regular visual check-ins allow our staff to monitor student well-being and ensure they are safe, supported, and present.
- State Requirements: The Pennsylvania Department of Education has outlined expectations for student attendance, participation, and instructional time in virtual settings. Being visually present on camera is a key indicator of active participation and helps our school meet compliance standards.
