Many parents worry that choosing cyber school means taking on the role of full-time teacher. We hear questions like:
“Will I have to supervise all day?”
“What if I’m not good at math?”
“Am I the one who has to teach lessons?”
The good news? At CPDLF, parents and guardians are partners—not instructors.
You don’t have to be the teacher.
Instruction, grading, lesson planning, and academic guidance are all handled by CPDLF’s certified teachers and Learning Guides. Each learner has a full Academic Team behind them—people who understand online education, child psychology and development, and and know how to help learners succeed.
Parents simply support their learner’s routine and encourage them. Think of it as the home version of cheering from the sidelines while our team coaches, guides, and teaches.
Flexible for real families.
Not every family has a stay-at-home parent. Many parents work full time, work from home, manage shifts, or balance multiple responsibilities. CPDLF is built with this in mind. Learners have structured schedules, live support, and autonomy—meaning they can complete work throughout the day while still having check-ins and direction from their teachers. Some learners go to work with their parent and quietly do school from mom or dad's office. Some go to grandma's house. Some visit our drop-in learning centers (Altoona and Stroudsburg). Some learners are working from a hospital bed. Others are working from a horse trailer as they travel to compete. One of our CPDLF families logged in from Paris! Tell us what's going on in your child's life and we'll help you manage your schedule.
Your child is supported at every step.
Each stage in your child's education requires varying levels of support. Our youngest ones do need a little more parental supervision until about Grade Three. You can check out our Day in the Life Of A... articles to learn more about what a realistic amount of supervision looks like (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12).
Otherwise, we strive for independence for our learners. This methodology prepares them for life after their K-12 education. Learners can ask teachers questions during live help sessions, join small groups, visit breakout rooms, or connect one-on-one with staff. You don’t need to hover—you just need to be available if your child needs encouragement or help staying organized. We’ll take care of the heavy lifting.
