Despite how common cyber schools have become, this myth still comes up:
“Cyber school isn’t a real school.”
Let’s set the record straight—because cyber education is not only real, but in many cases, offers a more individualized and supportive approach than traditional settings.
CPDLF is a public school.
We’re accredited, staffed by certified teachers, aligned with Pennsylvania academic standards, and authorized to award Pennsylvania state diplomas to those who meet the Commonwealth's pathways. Our learners complete coursework, take assessments, earn credits, and graduate just like students in brick-and-mortar schools.
It looks different to YOU because so much has changed since we were in school. Think about what our great grandparents would say about our time in school! The education world has changed so much as we learn more about child development, how the brain learns, and what is needed to make our society function well.
A real school with real flexibility.
What sets CPDLF apart is how instruction is delivered. Instead of sitting in a loud classroom or navigating crowded hallways, learners study in a setting that allows them to focus. Live sessions, independent work, breakout rooms, small groups, and personalized one-on-one support are all built into the model. Some children thrive in this environment.
We see every learner as an individual.
Traditional schools often rely on one pace and one teaching style. Cyber school allows us to tailor the experience to each child. Learners who need more support get it. Those who need more challenge receive it. Those who need schedule flexibility or a calmer environment finally have both.
In every way that matters—academics, support, community, and outcomes—CPDLF is absolutely a real school. It just happens to take place online, in a model designed to help learners thrive.
