This myth usually comes from a place of worry:
“I work full-time—can we really make cyber school work?”
“Do I have to supervise all day?”
“Am I responsible for teaching?”
At CPDLF, the answer is simple: You do not need to be home all day or take on the role of teacher.
Your child has a full team behind them.
Teachers, Learning Guides, and counselors provide daily structure, guidance, and support. Instruction, grading, and feedback come from school staff—not parents. Families aren’t expected to develop the curriculum or run the school day.
In fact, some families refer to their CPDLF experience as "homeschooling without all the fuss." Families get the opportunity to access school wherever they are, but don't have the responsibility of designing lesson plans, teaching the classes, or filing reports with the Commonwealth.
Cyber school is built for modern families.
Many CPDLF families include parents who work outside the home, parents with shift schedules, grandparents, guardians who juggle multiple responsibilities, or caregivers balancing work-from-home jobs. Our system is intentionally flexible.
Learners have routines, not isolation.
Schedules include live sessions, check-ins, independent work, and structured learning blocks. Your child is connected to adults who know them—not working alone. We also offer two drop-in Learning Centers for children who would like a safe, supervised place to work and get even more individualized attention.
Your role is supportive, not supervisory.
Think of yourself as a Learner Coach. You cheer, encourage, communicate, and stay involved—but you’re not expected to do the teaching. And when challenges arise, our team steps in quickly.
Cyber school is not just for families with stay-at-home parents. It’s for any family seeking a model that fits the child—and the household.
