Current Fundraisers
Country Meats is helping CPDLF learners fund their trip abroad. We are so grateful for their support and we're excited to provide a unique way for kids to fundraise when friends and family may not be living in the same community as our learners. Country Meats ships directly to individuals (unlike school fundraisers back in parents' time where students would come home with a big stack of merchandise to distribute!) and offers free shipping on orders over $89. Use the button below to shop now.

This fundraiser is available through 2/28/25.
Donate to Our Traveling Learners
Not interested in fundraisers? You can donate directly to our Learners' travel costs by using the Zeffy platform linked in the button below. This is a wonderful platform that allows 100% of your donation to go to the students - no extra fees. Also, if you select "This is a corporate/organization donation," you'll receive a receipt to use for your itemized tax deductions because we are a nonprofit organization.

FAQs
Traveling abroad can be intimidating. We'll help you answer some questions you might have to put your mind at ease.

Who is permitted to attend these trips?
School-organized trips are attended by CPDLF learners and CPDLF staff, who will be the chaperones for your child. Dr. Maurer, our school's CEO, will be the host. You can learn more about her (and the other staff who may be traveling, too) at this link. Parents may choose to attend with their learner.

Who is organizing the trip?
CPDLF has partnered with EF Tours, an organization that has been arranging tours for educators for over 55 years. Their trips are intended to expose students to new cultures, languages, and a chance to see the world. We're excited to offer this experience to our Learners.

How does this benefit my child?
One of the reasons we selected EF Tours to help us host these trips is best summarized here: "When done right, traveling is education." We agree. EF Tours are curated by experts from each city that we select to visit, and are designed to be relevant to students. Hands-on, real-world experiences are the way to help students learn more about the world around them. Each child on our adventure will gain something different from the tour: perhaps a chance to use a foreign language for the first time, try a new food outside of their comfort zone, or learn how much they have in common with people an ocean away. What does your child want to learn?

Travel is expensive. How do we afford or budget for this experience?
EF Tours works to help make travel as affordable and accessible as possible. We understand there can still be some sticker-shock. Each tour has a custom package designed for CPDLF Learners. This generally includes airfare, ground transportation in country, hotels, meals, entrance fees to attractions, a full-time tour director, and expert local guides. CPDLF offers donation links Learners can use to solicit donations from their community and fundraisers.

What about safety?
It's scary to send your child abroad! That's why we're partnering with EF Tours and not attempting to DYI these trips ourselves. They have the experience and resources to handle any scenario that may arise - from upset tummies due to new cuisine, pandemics, and flexibility if travel plans must change. You can learn more about their commitment to safety here.

How do I apply for a passport for my child?
There are some steps to passport applications that vary based on your child's age and any custody arrangements that may apply to your child's situation. We'll provide links below for each scenario. Please read through these links so that you're aware of what documentation you'll need to bring, as well as fees, photos, and more.

Note: Passports take a long time to process and the government may reject photos or require additional information from you after you submit your application. If you think your child may want to travel with us, start the process to get their passport NOW.
